Attorney General Bill Pryor Prosecutes
Chief Justice Moore and Claims the Chief Justice is “Unrepentant” for Acknowledging
God Notwithstanding Court Orders to the Contrary.
Q: And if you resume your duties
as Chief Justice after this proceeding, you will continue to acknowledge
God as you have testified that
you would today?
A: That's right.
Q: No matter what any official says?
A: Absolutely.
| The following is a partial transcript from the recent trial of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore. Like Luther standing before the tribunal at the Diet of Worms, Chief Justice Roy Moore was explicitly condemned for being “unrepentant “ in his unwillingness to submit to a federal order prohibiting him from acknowledging God as a state official. Attorney General Bill Pryor demanded the Court of the Judiciary to immediately remove him from office for his refusal to deny God and for “inciting the public to support his misconduct.” It must be stressed, that Attorney General Pryor did not cross-examine Chief Justice Moore on his future position towards Ten Commandment monuments, but only the issue of the acknowledgment of God as a public official. Please stay tuned for more in-depth reporting from the Alabama courtroom. In the meantime the following is a partial transcript of the concluding questions in the cross-examination of Chief Justice Moore by Attorney General Bill Pryor |
Q: Mr. Chief Justice? And your understanding is that the federal court ordered that you could not acknowledge God; isn’t that right?
A: Yes.
Q: And if you resume your duties as Chief Justice after this proceeding, you will continue to acknowledge God as you have testified that you would today?
A: That’s right.
Q: No matter what any official says?
A: Absolutely. Without – let me clarify that. Without an acknowledgment of God, I cannot do my duties. I must acknowledge God. It says so in the constitution of Alabama. It says so in the first amendment to the United States Constitution. It says so in everything I have read. So - -
Q: The only point I’m trying to clarify, Mr. Chief Justice, is not why, but only that, in fact, if you do resume your duties as Chief Justice, you will continue to do that [acknowledge God] without regard to what any other official says; isn’t that right?
A: Well, I’ll do the same thing
this court did with starting a prayer; that’s an acknowledgment of God.
Now, we did the same say thing that justices do when they place their hand
on the Bible and say, “So help me God.” It’s an acknowledgment of God.
The Alabama Supreme Court opened with, “God save the State and this Honorable
Court.” It’s an acknowledgment of God. In my opinion, which I have written
many opinions, acknowledging God is the source – a moral source of law.
I think you must.

Does this sound like a trial
in the United
States of America?
What is happening in our country?
Many of you are like me and
had fathers, uncles, grandfathers, or others who served their county in
World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam war, or the War in Iraq.
I, like some of you, served in the Vietnam war. We served our country
to protect our country, our freedom, and our love ones.
While in high school we were discussing how the communist countries told lies to their people. One of my fellow students, a young lady, asked the question; "How do we know that what we are being told is the truth?" I ask you today, are we being told the truth? I mean when you watch the news on the major networks, on Public Television, CNN, or FOX News, are they telling us just the facts or are they telling the news from an angle or leaving out part of it to fit their agenda. They have a right to editorialize, but do they really tell us what is happening in the news segments of their programs. I am afraid people make judgments and vote by what they see on TV, hear on the radio, or read in the papers. But I ask you do they really know the facts or the truth?
The New York Times use to be the most trusted Newspaper in the world. Everyone still quotes from it. Again they have a right in America to give their opinions on the editorial pages, but do they just give us the honest facts on the front page. Their is growing evidence that the New York Times has broken our trust and this is what is used for the morning news by all the major networks.

the New York Times distorts the news and why it can no longer be trusted."

When I was in high school people in government acknowledged God and we were free to express our beliefs anywhere. There was no problem with it. Below is a book cover that I got at my high school to cover my books. This was 1960-1964.

When I was serving in Vietnam I thanked God that I had a safe and God fearing country to come back to. Since then they have outlawed prayer in the schools and now they are trying to take "One Nation Under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance. The phrase "One Nation Under God" was inserted when we were fighting the godless communist in Vietnam and the Cold War. Look at our courntry now. There is violence in the schools like never before in history. It is also in our cities.
It is time we Americans stand up. We need to let our judges and senators know that we support Chief Justice Moore, we want to keep our Pledge of Allegiance, and that we want our sentors to have an up and down vote on the nominees for judicial court positions put forth by President Bush. Sentors need to stop telling us what the us Americans want and listen to the people.
We are the people in the Constitution and the Constitution states the Congress will not establish a religion. There is no mention of the seperation of Church and State. To the countrary, our founding fathers were men of faith. Our senators need to take countrol of making laws and not letting judges make laws that are not constitutional. We need to tell each senator if they are not willing to do that then we will not put them back in office. It is the younger newer senators that are taking a stand. Those in office for too long seem to be only interested in getting re-elected, not in doing what is right.
We the people need to take this country back for God and get our senators and judges to follow the Constitution of the United States, not the law of a few judges who want to rewrite our history.
